Description
What’s measured?
We run CEA which is an indicator that cancer may be growing in the system; an abnormal reading does not specifically mean you have cancer but it is a strong indicator. CA 19.9 tracks pancreatic cancer, PSA tracks prostate growth, AFP tracks liver cancer, Stool Occult Blood tracks bleeding associated with gastrointestinal cancer or other abnormalities, and CBC tracks abnormal activity in the Blood and Bone Marrow that can be a reason for blood cancers. All these are non-specific markers, abnormal results are triggers for further clinical investigation.
